First of all, this is a submission for the World AIDs Day Contest.

On December 1st (World AIDs Day) me and 5 friends made big letters out of cardboard that spelt 'WIN' and we wandered round central London with them.. The idea is that you 'win' by practising safe sex. Basically we'd designed a series of flyers also, and had got 300 free condoms and 300 AIDs Day red ribbons. We placed (or carried) the word around all day and whenever people wandered over to see what was going on (which was very often) we gave them a flyer and asked them to donate for a ribbon (which we'd put into packs with leaflets and condoms) to show support. We were raising money for the Terrence Higgins Trust, and we were competing against other a few other groups to try and raise more money, and we raised Ł428.19 which I think is pretty damn good. Anyway, i've included a couple of photos of the letters and one of the leaflets. I guess the best way to describe this was that it was a performance to raise awareness, as well as money.

This is brilliant! It's good that people are making effective art out of issues. It's one of the best media-targeted pieces I've seen in a long time.
